Results from my One Day Cleanse

I woke up on Sunday and felt pretty sluggish. You know that overall blah feeling that comes with you eat like crap and ignore exercise. I knew I wasn’t necessarily overeating but I also wasn’t eating foods that were going to make me feel better. I was doing things like having a latte for breakfast, a handful of goldfish and multiple pieces of Halloween candy for lunch and snacking on whole boxes of cereal after work.

So I decided to do a Five Day Gentle Cleanse…Not gonna lie, I woke up this morning feeling GREAT! Like I really noticed a change so I decided to share just my one day Cleanse because just a one day cleanse even has benefits.

Breakfast:

  • 1 Grande Soy Latte
  • 1 banana with 1 oz. almonds

Lunch:

  • 2 Slices of Whole Grain Wheat Bread with 1/2 Avocado

Snack:

  • An apple
  • Carrots & Cherry Tomatoes

I then had a large iced oat milk latte

For Dinner:

  • 1 cup lentils, 1 cup chicken broth with carrots
  • 3 oz of chicken

Then, 1 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar in 1 bottle of water with frozen raspberries.

I stayed up late and was hungry around 10 pm so I had 1 cup of dry cheerios.

As you can see, I don’t believe there needs to be strict “rules” for a detox. I believe everyone can make up there own definition of a cleanse and see results.

For me it usually includes elimination of packaged or processed foods, dairy and red meat. I focus on the addition of plant based protein like beans and healthy fats like nuts and avocado. I consume very little animal protein. Fruits and vegetables are my snacks. I try to limit snacking late at night.

It’s also about just feeling better and reminding myself what healthy food feels like.
