I drink coffee but I hate coffee. I literally HATE the taste of black coffee. And the smell. But I’m addicted to lattes. The sweetest coffee drink in the world.
When I got my first job in New York City, it was something I wanted to like desperately for energy. So my boyfriend at the time (now husband) suggested a skinny vanilla latte. Ok…I could get on board with this….and little by little my skinny vanilla latte turned into a full blown love affair with lattes.
We have heard over and over that artificial sweeteners are bad for you. We have also heard you should limit dairy. And soy….that’s not the best either. Unfortunately, my iced triple tall soy skinny hazelnut latte contained all of these and I do feel eliminating these items as much as possible is essential to health.
That left me with one option…almond milk. Ehhh…..if you have a sweet tooth like me, its not gonna cut it and it just doesn’t kill the black coffee taste like syrups or milks do.
So I began experimenting in my apartment, as well as making a complete mess, but I’m getting close to the perfect coffee drink that every couple days can cut out the artificial sweeteners and dairy in your life.
