So it’s no surprise that I haven’t written lately. Frankly, I hit a writing roadblock. For a while I felt like I didn’t have anything important to say and I didn’t want to crowd newsfeeds with mediocre information that I wasn’t passionate about. Now I have something very important to say. I realized that I have a revolutionary calorie cutting hack that I’ve been keeping to myself. It needs to be shared.
It may sound crazy, but I think lettuce is causing us to eat way more calories than necessary! Yes, lettuce. Those leafy greens that make up majority of the salad. For a while I’ve ordered a salad without lettuce. I do this because without lettuce, I do not need salad dressing. Lettuce is the ONLY reason we need to add fattening dressing to our salads. Because lettuce sucks. No one can eat lettuce without dressing. You never see anyone walking around snacking on lettuce leaves. Lettuce is the only reason we need to add Craisins, walnuts, cheese and other fattening toppings to our salads. We’re trying to build up a boring and bland, tasteless, salad staple. Everyday I get this salad in the city, grilled chicken, a hard boiled egg, chick peas, kidney beans, cucumbers, corn, and tomatoes. Then I just add a little salt and pepper. It’s a salad but more like a side dish without lettuce. No dressing is needed. And on the new Weight Watchers plan that’s a ZERO POINT salad filled with protein and fiber.
Romaine with me on this. When we’re trying to cut back on calorie, lose weight or get a handle on emotional eating, every little hack helps. I just took a leafy green, not satisfying salad that I have to load with toppings and turned it into a hearty meal that’s void of empty calories.
Lettuce all tell everyone we know about this revolutionary calorie cutting hack!
Happy Tuesday!
